I don’t know about you, but for me, growing up was tricky.
And so this is what we do. We honor strength. We recognize courage. We reclaim joy.
Tough. Aggressive. Manly. Relentless. Physical. All words that I have heard defining what a man should be. If I ever lapsed in any of these areas, I saw myself as weak. Undeserving. Childish. Emotional. Broken. Unique. Out of place.
It was clear to me that these men – men I know to be “good guys” – had never considered the lengths to which women have to go to feel safe.
