Our Helping Handful!
February Volunteer of the Month
Congratulations to Jeff Heinzl, our February Volunteer of the Month! Jeff is a dedicated, kindhearted Furman University student who has volunteered with our agency throughout the last 2 years working with shelter children. Jeff recently started as our coordinator for Furman's Collegiate Educational Service Corps (CESC), which means he schedules and manages 10-15 student volunteers from Furman who wish to divert energy from busy personal lives and focus attention on a population in need. Jeff volunteers weekly in addition to managing the CESC program for Safe Harbor, and he's a crowd-favorite among the kids! Jeff is very reliable and compassionate, an exemplary volunteer. Thanks so much, Jeff, for the time and energy you give to Safe Harbor. Our children especially appreciate your involvement. You will receive a t-shirt as a special thank you for your hard work! THANKS AGAIN!!!

6th Annual Harbor Run:

Cheerleaders, Dance Teams, Pep Bands, Church Groups, Club Members
Energetic groups and individuals are needed to help encourage the tired runners to keep going. Groups will be stationed along the course to cheer on runners and make sure participants are on course and having fun. Cheerleaders and dance teams may have the chance to perform a favorite routine or cheer on stage after the completion of the race. If you and some of your energetic friends or group members are interested, let me know!

The official Harbor Run volunteer sign up sheet is posted at the shelter in the main office beside the volunteer calendar. Sign up or contact me via phone at 467-1177 or email at samantha.tucker@safeharborsc.org.
